Master's dissertation

The Master's Final Thesis (TFM) is the final module of the programme and aims to enable students to integrate, deploy and account for all the skills that have been developed throughout the master’s degree. Unlike others, it is predominantly autonomous, so the student assumes most of the workload. Its teaching is undirected and focuses mainly on tutorial action. Although face-to-face teaching is not contemplated, information sessions are organized in the reception session as well as in related modules (e.g. Research Strategies) carried out by the coordination of the module. It is important to note that the TFM involves many agents as each TFM has one or more tutors, incorporates external assesment and has a regulatory commission. The Master's Thesis intends to confront students with a real problem in the field of Sports Psychology and Physical Activity that can be a research or a response to a real demand from an entity in the field of sport or health.

Today, among the lines of TFM that are offered are the following:

  •     Promoting Mental Health in Nature
  •     LGBTIQ+ perspective in sport
  •     Psychological training applied to specific sports
  •     Detection and prevention of bullying in formative sport
  •     Physical activity and mental health
  •     Bibliometric studies in the field of sports psychology and physical activity
  •     Performance optimization in esports
  •     Heart rate variability as an indicator of rehabilitation
  •     Athletic career and transitions
  •     Psychological factors of endurance sports
  •     Role of families in sport
