Training activities
The PhD programmes include research training that is both transferrable and specific to the area of each programme and consists of both compulsory and optional activities.
All the activities that the PhD student must complete are recorded in an activities document, but in any case there are compulsory activities that must be completed in the first academic years. It may also include transferrable activities offered by the same university.
Other professional who are not PhD holders may participate in these activities as long as they hold a relevant qualification in the corresponding area.

You can also do other mobility, under the Erasmus programme, both studies and internships. Check the information in the corresponding links.

The programmed activities for this PhD are as follows:
Obligatory

Give a seminar about the research project
PhD students must take part in a seminar organised by the programme and explain their research project to peers and teaching staff: objectives, justification, methodology, theoretical framework and progress, as well as any difficulties encountered.

Participation in methodology specialisation workshops or courses
The programme organises an annual methodology specialisation course for communication research which PhD students must attend and demonstrate that they have benefitted from.

Attendance and seminars and talks given by experts in the field of knowledge
The programme organises an annual series of specialised talks within the different areas of research in the programme, given by guest scholars or lecturers on the PhD programme and attendance is obligatory.

Production of a research article sent to a high impact scientific journal
PhD students must complete and send at least one research article to a high impact scientific journal in the field of communication and journalism.
Optional
- Attendance at doctoral working groups
- Research periods in national or foreign, public or private centres
- Participation in summer schools
- Participation in symposia for young researchers
- Presentation of a paper (oral or poster) at a national conference
